I can't remember when I first started playing basketball, all I know is that I got into the game because I got tired of playing soccer base. I remember shooting the soccer ball into a basketball hoop near my grade school building and never did it even grazed the net. When you're a kid, everything is tall and seemingly unreachable! As time goes on, I learned to play bit by bit; you see I'm not a tall kid and I did not grew as tall as I wanted to be, so I found it difficult to play with others who are more taller and more talented than me. While I did learn how to move and shoot well, Basketball was for me something I just enjoy playing together with friends casually and not competitively.
Fast forward to this day, I've just finished putting up a little basketball hoop for my 2 year old son. Seeing how he stuffs his basketball in every nook and cranny he can think of inside the house, I've decided to have a hoop installed outside the house so that he can start playing basketball. I'm a bit nostalgic seeing Roo stuff the ball in the hoop, remembering how I used to do the same with any type of ball that I have in home-made hoops I've built when I was young. I hope my son grows up as tall as my Lolo who, by the way, is over 6 feet high and be able to play the game better than I am.
I do hope Roo gets into sports early. In that way, he'll stay fit and healthy, as well as develop discipline and focus not only in sports but also in his studies.

Oktoberfest
Hah! Though we missed the cut, our band was able to play in M1's Oktoberfest event last October 18. It was great, though we could have done better with a little bit more practice and a couple of more songs on our repertoire. Well, we didn't get to participate in the contest but with the (almost) free beer flowing around, it's better than nothing. I'm secretly wishing that come Christmas, I would have a little cash set aside to start up my funding for a new drum kit. Either that or someone would kindly donate a donor Music Mate drums for me to resurrect my old gear. Well, cross my fingers until they go numb and hope good ol' Saint Nick stuff all my socks with wads of crisp P1000 bills come Christmas time. Hehehe.

So what am I up to....
Well, I've been busy for the past few weeks trying to get myself acclimated to the workplace and to the work itself. I'm halfway through my 2nd month and things are starting to get pretty much easier. I had my first family day over at M2 last September and it was such a fun day. It would have been more fun if my little boy was there with us. Then again, bringing a child to a far place via public transport is quite a different story. After the event, my wife treated me (yeah you read that right!) to a cool rustic resto where most of the deco are antiques. We had Crispy Pata as well as Papaitan and both were good! Love you wifey! Hehehe!
Lately, Me and my colleagues formed a band to try and take on the upcoming battle of the bands contest to be held in M1 as part of the company's Oktoberfest activity. Its been quite a long time since I've played fast-paced drums and its quite evident with our first practice that my drumming is a bit rusty. Well, we've managed to practice a few times and record a demo for the screening. Sad to say, we didn't make the cut. No matter, there's always the next time. Now that I've managed to rouse my dormant passion for drumming, I'm looking forward getting a new drum kit as well as a few good cymbals and a rockin' double pedal.

Well, I guess that's about it. I look forward to having these things, maybe in the nearest future... Hehehe... still a lot of things to settle before even thinking of buying these. But then again, If there's a will, there's a way!

Fraudbusters

Today is the last day of training. Its been more than 60 days since I started at the company and by next week, it'll be the real thing. I just wish I land in a good team, with a good sked and cool people to work with. I wish all my tranchemates the best and hope we all succeed in this profession we got into.

Hearts Burst Into Fire
This song reminds me of cheesy 90's glam rock music. Bullet For My Valentine Rocks!

Starting Anew
I'm blogging once again and hopefully I'd be making this a regular habit. I'm proud to say that I have a regular job once again after bouncing around numerous part time work. Another thing is that I'm now married and have a one year old son who looks more like a two year old kid. Life's changing fast and I need to change with it as well.
